When: Tues. and Thurs. evenings 6-10 p.m. plus 2 Sat. per month Approximately 150 hours total. Sept. 11 thru Dec.
Where: Newtown High School
Who: Students must be 16 years of age by the completion of the
course. There is no maximum age limit to attend the class.
What: This is a State of Connecticut approved training course for
EMT-Basic certification. Course includes classroom lectures,
practical training, CPR certification, Emergency Room observation,
patient assessment for injury and illness, treatment of medical
conditions and injury related events, lifting and moving techniques,
medical documentation, and Emergency Medical Services
operations. Upon completion of the course material and classroom
sessions, students will sit for an approved State of CT. written and
practical test. (Additional fee may be required for testing.)
Cost: $550.00 (Includes textbook, test preparation material, stethoscope
and blood pressure cuff.)
