January 20, 2012 - We are proud to announce the addition of three new members. Steven H. (730) and Matthew B. (749) are state and national certified EMT's. Scott P. (M2) is a local resident and medic driver.
January 19, 2012 - Bob V. (742), Mike C. (760), Dan S. (717) gave a presentation on the history of NVAC
at the Newtown Women's Club. Club members offered continued support to NVAC. Donations of food and cookies were gladly accepted.
January 14, 2012 - We are proud to announce the addition of two new members to NVAC. Both trainees are state and nationally certified EMT's. Please welcome Pedro R. (731) & Rich F. (728) aboard when you meet them in the coming weeks...

January 12, 2012 - In the event the town fuel pumps are closed due to either out of fuel or electrical power, the backup source is the Sunoco Service Center, 75 S Main St. You can call dispatch and ask for Nick to be called and open the station for diesel if needed after hours.
January 12 - Rig Check Off Sheets have been updated to include fire extinguishers and stretcher battery checks. Batteries should not be changed until they appear red as this will prolong the life of the batteries.

January 1, 2012 - Regulations require members to annually re-certify on the following two courses. The courses are free and you can print out a certificate to hand in to your trainer or the e-board to have included in your file. Hazardous Materials Response - Awareness Level Participants will learn how to recognize a hazardous materials release and the risks involved. They will also learn how to identify the released material; how to use available resources, including the Emergency Response Guidebook; and how to notify the proper authorities in the event of a hazardous material emergency.
Bloodborne Pathogens
This course will provide participants with the knowledge required to identify bloodborne pathogens and to protect against exposure. The course meets requirements established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
